  • Institutional Best Practices as follows: Best Practice: I
    1. Title of the practice: Late Baburaoji Gholap student assistance fund
    2. Goal:Late Baburaoji Gholap student assistance fund provides financial support to students who are experiencing financial difficulties while attending college. Fund helps and encourages the students to achieve their future goals and achievements.
    3. Context:Late Baburaoji Gholap student assistance fund was established in the academic year 2012-13 by college teachers to provide financial support to economically and socially backward students.
    4. Practice:The donation of the college teachers is added to assistance fund.
    5. The 31 teachers from the college have taken initiative for donation for this fund on per month (300/- per month) basis.
    6. From the year 2012-13 to 2019-20, the amount of Rs. 4,21,148/- fund is distributed amongst the needy students in the college.
    7. In year 2019-20, the fund amount of Rs. 54,110/- is provided to help the students to fulfil their needs.
    8. Evidence of success:Late shri Baburaoji Gholap student assistance fund is well appreciated by the students, parents and other stakeholders of the college.
    9. There are a number of students getting benefits with this assistance fund, which is helpful for them to remove them from economic anxiety and to achieve their future goals.
    10. Problems Encountered and Resources Required:The students getting benefited under this assistance fund increasing day by day. However, number of donor is almost constant. Hence, it is necessary to create the awareness amongst the faculty and stakeholders to make contribution in the assistance fund.

    1. Title of the practice: Shri Siddhivinayak book bank scheme
    2. Goal: To serve the academic excellence, the resources such as text books, reference books and novels via library are made accessible to college students funded by Shri Siddhivinayak book bank scheme, Mumbai.
    3. Context: Shri Siddhivinayak trust, Mumbai provides books individually or libraries under Shri Siddhivinayak book bank scheme. Late Shrikrushna Tambe library of the college has participated in Shri Siddhivinayak book bank scheme from academic year 2015-16 to till date.
    4. Practice: Late Shrikrushna Tambe library of the college has taken initiative to acquire benefit from Shri Siddhivinayk book bank scheme. The required list of the books is submitted online to book bank scheme. From academic year 2015-16 to till date, total quantity of 7345 books with total worth of 11,03,203/- (Eleven lakh three thousand two hundred three rupees) has been sanctioned under this scheme by the library. By providing faculty and other staff with resources they need to fulfil their educational mission and boost the student learning.
    5. Evidence of success: Shri Siddhivanayak book bank scheme added support to a growing body of evidence that demonstrates positive contributions of academic libraries to student learning. Information literacy instruction provided to students during their initial coursework helps them to acquire a common set of competencies for their undergraduate studies.
    6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required: Motivation to the students is required to stay for long hours in the library and to take benefit of the books available in the library.

    1. Title of the practice: Student Orientation Activities
    2. Goal: To enhance the students understanding of strategies for success, their own potential and challenges by providing the students with the latest education facilities and opportunities such as Placement, Motivation, Infrastructure Development, Competitive Exam Centre, etc.
    3. Context: As the college is situated in the hilly and tribal region, the lack of employment opportunities and recognized courses are the main drawbacks to students while pursuing their education. Any programme undertaken by the college by keeping these points in mind.
    4. Practice: Development of Infrastructure facilities specially geared for students are as follow: • Teaching aids like LCD projectors, computers with internet facility, etc. have been made available in all departments/classrooms in the college. • A new building with 08 classrooms has been constructed by the college under RUSA Scheme. • The following departments have received grants under the RUSA Scheme for renovation and up-gradation. 1. Department of chemistry to renovate laboratory and to purchase sophisticated laboratory equipment – Rs. 26 Lakhs 2. Department of Physics to renovate laboratory and to purchase sophisticated laboratory equipment – Rs. 23 Lakhs 3. Department of Botany to renovate laboratory and to purchase sophisticated laboratory equipment – Rs. 10 Lakhs 4. Department of Zoology to renovate laboratory and to purchase sophisticated laboratory equipment – Rs. 09 Lakhs 5. Department of Sports to build, 400 metre, 8 lane, standard running track – 15 Lakh • The college has purchased instruments required for research under DST- FIST Scheme- Rs. 32 Lakh • The Open Gym Instruments were installed on the college ground under Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) -01 Lakh • The Construction of Women’s hostel constructed under University Grant Commission (XI plan) -35 Lakh • Late Shrikrushna Tambe library of the college has taken initiative to acquire benefit under Shri Siddhivinayk Book Bank Scheme, Mumbai. From academic year 2015-16 to 2019-20, total quantity of 7345 books with total worth of 11,03,203/- (Eleven lakh three thousand two hundred three rupees) has been sanctioned under this scheme by the library. • Recently, STAR college proposal is recommended by task force and financial support is provided to four departments in the college, Botany, Chemistry, Zoology and Physics. • The ‘Competitive Exam Centre’ is started in the college (2018-19) to create awareness and interest among the students about competitive exams. A series of lectures were organized every year by ‘Competitive Exam Centre’. • Motivational speaker Mr. Anand Bansode (Everest Veer) And Gold Medalist Avantika Narale (Runner) was invested as Chief Guest for Annual Gathering Function in 2018-19. Dr. Vilas Pol (Professor, Purdue University, USA, Guinness world record of arranging periodic table elements in 08 minutes ad 36 seconds) was invited as a guest lecture for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Students in 2021-22. • The college has a full-fledged ‘Placement Cell’ which has a specially designated Placement Officer. The Placement Cell co-ordinates with HR departments of various corporates/MNCs and organizes recruitment at college campus every year.
    5. Evidence of success: The efforts of the IQAC to improve student-oriented activities has met with success. Some details are provided below: • The Placement Cell of the college often conducts campus interview for the students. This dedicated wing of the college organizes meetings, counselling sessions and interactions to enhance the knowledge and ability of the students to face placement interviews successfully. • During last five years, nearly 22 students qualified SET/NET/JRF/ JAM/GATE/Competitive Exams. College possesses 400 metre running track and open Gym. Students takes benefit of the college ground and library facility for physical and intellectual preparation of the competitive exams. • College established Incubation Centre at Chemistry Department to inculcate and nurture the culture of innovation at the campus. Entrepreneurship development programmes like LED bulb Manufacturing workshop, Apiculture training workshop, Laptop and Mobile repairing workshop, etc. were conducted by the college. Recently, SPPU, Pune permitted to start Ph.D. Research Centre in Physics, Chemistry and Economics.
    6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required: Till date, no any major problems are encountered while carrying out the student’s orientation activities.
